Product Description

SOLD OUT / NOT IN STOCK / NOT BEING PRODUCED ANYMORE / SORRY

Due to their location on the car and the size of the inlet scoops on the side of the car, the air filters on a 981 (Boxster, Cayman, and GT4) are frequently battered with rocks and dirt. We recommend removing them and shaking them out (or replacing them) often due to the build-up, especially on GT4 cars. Our go-to upgrade is the high-flow BMC air filter kit, especially in conjunction with a GT3 throttle body and IPD plenum.

Whether you're replacing with original or BMCs, removing the filters is a pretty difficult task, and Porsche did not make it easy to remove these filter housings, which must be squeezed together while pulling with extreme force on two tiny plastic loops to remove from the car due to a tight fit with a large o-ring. With no easy solution, we decided to make a small tool to hold the clips apart and provide a handle for leverage for our local installations. We liked it so much we decided to make and sell these to customers.

Installation:

Perfect for any DIYer, mechanic, Porsche dealer, or independent service shop, our tool is made of stainless steel and it will not wear out. It will save you time and effort every time you replace your air filters though.

Made in the USA.

* Note - There is a single screw on the back of the filter housing that must be removed prior to pulling the filters out.
