2012 991 Carrera S TechArt Type Aero, Brembo Brakes & HRE P40SC Wheels

This agate grey 2012 991 Carrera S project kicked things off with some TechArt enhancements. On the menu was the aggressive Type II rear Wing, the Type I Front spoiler, side skirts and rear diffusor.

It's business time, and you know when you're not wearing your wheels at SharkWerks it's always business time:

First we remove the stock rear wing for body color paint matching:

The rear Type II wing is installed and the car programmed for a fixed wing:

The multi-piece TechArt side skirt is now installed giving it more of a wide-body type look:

The more aggressive TechArt front lip is also installed along with brake cooling vents:

Final touches in the rear with Bumperplugs' help on the reflector covers:

The TechArt mirror trim pieces are also installed:

And of course clear side markers:

And now she's ready (at least until she returns for more next time!) to go home all gussied up:

And the tail:

Cheerio!

Updated with satin charcoal HRE 20-inch Monoblok P40SC wheels:

With this car seeing more and more track duty a few updates were in order including the TechArt lowering spring kit and a full front/rear Brembo GT slotted brake system.

In she comes with a complete mexico blue wrap for protection at the track...

The before...

With multiple track days (and pad/rotor changes) the weight/speed and thermal capacity of the stock braking system (carried over from the Cayenne) yielded these results. The pads were worn out, rotor worn through...

Stock caliper and worn-out rotor in front:

Same story in the rear (notice the uneven surface etc...):

Pads worn down severely after a couple of track days:

Off come the rotors, stock lines and calipers and on goes the TechArt lowering spring kit:

The GT system awaits:

In front now sporting a front 6-piston GT caliper and 380mm two piece slotted rotor for improved cooling properties. Stainless steel Goodrich lines and race pads are also added. The overall bite is much improved as are the thermals.

And the fully upgraded rear Brembo GT kit, with a four piston monoblock caliper, 380mm slotted rotors, Goodrich stainless lines and racier track pads:

Front fitment is not an issue with 20-inch HRE P40SC monoblok wheels...

Rears are a-ok check:

It's hard to make more power on these 991s but our age-old trick since the 996 days seems to always work- 5hp right there:

After a test-drive and strict bedding-in procedure she's ready for more track days:
