Features

Sharky's Note: From having owned and mofieid many 996, 997, Turbo and GT cars over the last two decades we've developed a preference from car to car. For our own personal taste we really find this kit to be THE perfect upgrade for any Carrera or Turbo based model. Being a direct swap you do not need to modify your existing shifter mechanism and you get a shorter-throw as well as much-improved precision. It's also especially good at correcting and improving the mechanism on a 996TT (which has one of the worst stock shifter throw/feels of the last 25 years of 911s!). A must -have for any manual 996 or 997 (non GT models). For GT model cars although this shifter fits/works and a lot of people swear by it for our liking it does tighten up the feel (reverse can be hard to engage) significantly in a mechanism that doesn't really need it as much. For the GT3 and GT3RS's we actually prefer to use a rebuild kit from Function First. The already "short/tight" shifter/transmission set up on all 997.1, 997.2 GT3 / GT3RS' doesn't really need as much help in terms of change. Some miles and years later the stock shifter bushings/bearings tend to wear out, develop play and feel more vague than need be.
