A delicate balance of front and rear downforce is critical to keeping the 911 Turbo planted on the ground during almost any driving condition, but becomes especially important in medium to high speed cornering where dangerous oversteer can occur.  To counteract this tendency, Werks1 has designed a replacement carbon fiber wing that is a direct replacement for the factory wing.  The Werks1 wing attaches directly to the factory mounting points without any modification, making it easily reversible.  It also retains the factory hydraulic movement, raising and lowering dependent on speed or via the factory dash-mounted switch.

Where the Werks1 wing differs from the factory wing is in both appearance and function.  With wind tunnel testing data to support the design, the Werks1 wing effectively creates an average of nearly 75lbs or rear downforce at highway speeds.  By doing so, the wing reduces the tendency of oversteer, leaving only a hint of understeer, which is much safer and easily corrected in comparison.  Aesthetically, the Werks1 wing is amazing.  With it's wider and much more aggressive shape, it sits in a slightly elevated position (even when the hydraulics are down) and extends over the rear quarter panels making it visible from almost every angle.  The absolutely stunning carbon fiber finish is the result of a painstaking process that begins with 100% pre-impregnated carbon fiber, vacuum bagged and autoclave cured to insure perfect material consistency throughout the entire part.  The finishing touch is a layer of glossy clearcoat which not only protects the carbon fiber structure but also gives the wing a shine to match Porsche's excellent paint finish.
